heart check.
The Lord told me to start blogging some of my journal entries and open up about what He has been telling me. So, cheers to being obedient and sharing!
Journal entry from 6-02-12:
Had a crippling conviction today that led me to a Christian bookstore purchasing a $60 Bible. How much time do we spend studying books, work-out routines, magazines, diets, game plans? etc. Yet how much time do we spend studying the ONE book that teaches us how to live, act, make decisions and choose friends?
OUCH.
“Check yourself, B.” -God said.
So “check yourself” I did.. I hopped in my car, stopped at Starbucks and hit the road to the closest Christian bookstore. Yet God didn’t stop there. As I sat contemplating this Bible compared to that Bible. I ended up with two on either side of me. “Well, Lord this one is PINK and $16.99 but doesn’t have a very good study application tool that I really need. The other one is an application study Bible and has an amazing way of explaining Scripture in a way that I can actually understand. It is also $60.00.” I said to myself, “$60.00 for a Bible?” Whoa. As I took a sip of my non-fat iced white mocha God tapped on my heart and said, “Brittney, you will spend money on shoes, nails, make-up etc. But you are questioning whether to spend that on My Book; a Book that you need to study and apply to your life?! Please evaluate yourself.”
So, I left with a $60.00 Bible, an empty Starbucks cup, and a full heart. Thanks God for always keeping me in line, I definitely need it.
“People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers & the flower fades. But the Word of the Lord remains forever.”

I love you first entry! I added you to my blog list and when I added you I saw portions of your previous entries. I saw the entry concerning Sara Evan's song " A little bit Stronger" I decided to listen and its been on repeat ever since. I am going through some "changes" now and this song is helping me push through. I wish you had left the others up so that I could read those as well but I look forward to reading your blog in the future.
