First Trimester Recap
I can hardly believe that I am 16 weeks pregnant already! I figured it was about time to blog about my first trimester, only a few weeks late! 🙂 My first trimester wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. I had heard some horror stories! There were some challenges, but it was definitely tolerable. I have been trying to enjoy this pregnancy journey because it is flying by! I can’t believe I will be 17 weeks on Tuesday!
This sonogram was taken at our first prenatal visit I was only 8 weeks and 6 days! We got to hear the heartbeat and immediately fell in love!
We didn’t start taking the weekly bump date pictures until 13 weeks. I mostly just felt like I looked bloated! But, I snapped these pictures at the gym and you can definitely see a growing little bump!
I started using Loving Sense Belly Butter early on. My sister used it with her first and said it worked great, so I figured I would give it a try! I’ve also been reading this book, it is great! It has weekly updates and has a lot of good advice! My husband and I also have The Bump app that also sends weekly updates to your phone as well. It’s so fun to have an alert on your phone each week with the size of baby and measurements and other fun facts!
I have been blessed and have only gotten sick 3x, but I did feel nauseous and tired. I continued working out during my first trimester despite my decrease in energy. Working out made me more energized. I would typically try going in the morning because if I waited I most likely would not go. I didn’t have any strange cravings. Although I did crave those little clementine/cutie’s, I would go through like a bag a week!! Raw meat would make me sick, so my husband had to handle that. Also, certain smells would make me queazy.
We go for a 17 week appointment this upcoming Tuesday. Then on May 18th, I will be 20 weeks and we find out the sex! Boy or girl?! My husband thinks we are having a boy, but I haven’t had any hunches yet. I just want a happy, healthy baby! My husband and I are so excited for our little bundle! Being a mother has always been a dream of mine! There is a lot of upcoming big decisions for our growing family, so please keep us all in your prayers!
“Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.”
