i just want to make Jesus famous.
Journal entry from 06-04-12
My step father and I came across one of his moms devotional books as we were digging through his bookshelf the other night. He let me borrow it to look through and read. I opened the old, tattered pages and tried to imagine the things those pages had seen. Can you imagine? The tears, laughs, and revelations that they’ve encountered? I know my journals, Bibles, and devotional books sure have been through A LOT with me. I never had the opportunity to meet my step father’s mother, she passed away before I had the pleasure. However, reading through her old notes, reminders, and sweet blessings she left behind I feel like I do know her. She was a godly woman and she knew, and I mean really knew Jesus.
This little devotional book really opened my eyes. To think this is something that could be passed down from generation to generation. I had a reality check and thought, what kind of legacy am I leaving? I want my kids and then their kids to find Bible’s in plastic bags because they are so tattered and worn from being studied so many times over and over again. I want my kids and grandchildren to find notes and journals, books, and Bibles; and think “Wow, she really knew God.” Jewelry is nice and pictures are memorable, money can buy you stuff but personal encounters with Christ is what I will remember forever.
Eye opener right? I thought so.

Love this. My granny left behind her bible and omg. I love it. My mom uses it now. Plus I love listening to people who knew my granny and tell me awesome stories about her. (My granny died when I was 5) I have some memories but nothing beats knowing my granny loved the Lord.
