Natural Carpet/Rug Freshener
Today was cleaning day at my house! Well, cleaning time for mama during nap times and when I wasn’t chasing my 11 month old around the house. He is seriously into EVERYTHING. At one point, I was unloading the dishwasher, and he climbed up on it and started splashing in the leftover water puddles. Good thing I use a non-toxic cleaner in there! Another cleaning tip: Spritz Thieves cleaner in your dishwasher and scrub with a toothbrush in those tough spots and then toss a capful in with no dishes and run a HOT cycle. All fresh and clean plus it smells amazing and no harsh chemicals! Anyway, I made a wonderful carpet freshener that I wanted to share! It left my whole house smelling absolutely fabulous. Plus, it was easy peasy.
All-Natural, Non-toxic Carpet Freshener
1/2 cup baking soda
5 drops Lavender essential oil
5 drops Rosemary essential oil
5 drops TeaTree essential oil
Store in an air-tight container and let sit over night. Then, sprinkle on rugs or carpet and vacuum. (For optional cuteness you can store in a cute mason jar!)

What a great idea for non-toxic carpet/rug cleaner! I remember my mom buying store bought chemical infused powder like this to sprinkle on the carpets and vacuum up. I liked to make designs with the powder in the carpet and then clean it up with the vacuum. I am glad we have found and made our own toxic free and chemical free version of this; and it smells amazing!!
