THEO IS 2!
WOW! I can’t believe I have a two year old. I think the second year goes by faster than the first. Theo is so much fun at this age. He is still doing swim class and is doing incredibly well, he is a total water baby. We were at the pool a lot this summer, and he would stay out in the water all day if I would let him. He still enjoys his bath time, and loves an occasional shower as well. He talks A TON and is literally one of the happiest, most loving kids I have ever met. He is always smiling and as soon as I drop him off at the gym childcare, he goes and hugs the teacher (insert heart melt) and his teachers always talk about how loving he is. He has the cutest little personality and is very inquisitive. He loves playing with “non-toys.” By “non-toys” I mean, he is into the vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, daddy’s tools, the air mattress air pump, and anything else he isn’t supposed to be playing with (insert forehead slap). He does still play with his toys some, he likes cars, trucks, four wheelers, balls, and he loves to paint and color on his new easel we got him. I think the creative gene is going to come honest. I love rocking him at nap time and bedtime and singing to him, kissing, and cuddling him. When he’s had enough he looks up at me and says, “Bed.” Then we kiss again and say, “I love you,” and I lay him down. We are still holding strong to Bear and blankie. Bear is his stuffed animal bear that he MUST have when it’s time to go to bed. Blankie, we tend to swap out different soft, swaddle blankets, but Bear is a non-negotiable. Overall, our guy is a happy, healthy two year and couldn’t be happier!
I’ve been very intentional about praying prophetic prayers over Theo. I firmly believe that parents are prophets to their children. So, I have been praying verses and plugging in Theo’s name and speaking life and truth over him and his life, and it’s something that’s so special and dear to my heart. Being a mom has changed me in more ways than one, but definitely spiritually. Being able to grasp how Christ feels about me, his daughter, is so beautiful. I feel like I’m guiding, teaching, and encouraging Theo, but all the while, God is doing the same with me. I can’t parent my child well without God’s grace, forgiveness, and guidance daily. I’m nothing without Him. One of my favorite prayers for Theo is that he would be obedient and grow in WISDOM and STATURE in the Lord and be STRONG and COURAGEOUS and do what’s right in the eyes of the Lord. My Theo will be a mighty warrior and lead and love well. I cannot wait to see what this next year brings!
“Don’t you see that children are God’s best gift? The fruit of the womb His generous legacy? Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents, with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you; you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep.” Psalm 127:3-5
Once again Brian and Melissa of Project Life Photography have done it again! They are the absolute BEST. They’ve been there for our engagement, wedding, and now Theo pictures. Our family could not love them more, they’re very near and dear to our hearts!
