Things I’m Loving Lately
I have been loving lots of things lately, and I wanted to share my top five with you. From food to my Bible study, I am going to share all of the things that have been making my heart happy!
1. Sun Basket
Sun Basket is a food delivery system that sources only the BEST ingredients. They use organic, non-GMO produce and meat that is humanely raised, antibiotic and hormone-free. The flavors and all the recipes that I’ve tried so far have been exceptional, easy, and quick – mom win! I get so excited every Tuesday when my Sun Basket is delivered to my door. Plus the packaging is 100% compostable and recyclable. They also have Paleo, Gluten-Free, and Vegetarian options available. If you want to give Sun Basket a try and get $35 off your first order click here. I promise it will not disappoint!
2. Burn Boot Camp
As odd as it sounds, I love working out. Even though I may hate it during the 45 minutes of torture, I love the rush and overall feeling I get knowing I just completed a super hard work out. Burn is all about burst training combined with strength training, It’s a quick work out that will leave you feeling accomplished and exhausted. You also have the option of meeting with expert trainers during “focus meetings,” where they will encourage you, support you, and give you customized nutrition and meal planning recommendations to help you become the best possible version of yourself physically. They also have childcare, and the workers are fantastic. So, I can have peace of mind knowing that my little man is being well taken care of while mama bear is getting her booty kicked! 3. Fall essential oil combos
I love fall! It’s seriously one of my favorite seasons. I love the fashion, the smells, and the decorations. Speaking of smells, since I’ve ditched candles and plug-ins, I now use my diffuser and oils to create amazing fall scents. So, not only does my house smell like a snickerdoodle, I can rest easy knowing my family is breathing in totally safe oils made with 100% pure plants. You want to make sure you are using pure, quality, 100% Grade A essential oils. I only use Young Living because they have a Seed to Seal promise and their oils are better than organic. If you haven’t taken the plunge and hopped into oils, September is the perfect month because this is the month to start supporting your immune system for the coming months. I would love to hold your hand through the entire process, so click here to get started today. Without further ado, here are some dreamy diffuser blends to try: “Spiced Chai” = 3 drops Cardamom, 1 drop Ginger, 2 drops Cinnamon Bark, and 2 drops Clove. “Snickerdoodle” = 5 drops Stress Away, 3 drops Cinnamon Bark, 1 drop Nutmeg. “Orchard Stroll” = 4 drops Bergamot, 3 drops Orange, 3 drops Cedarwood. “Fireside S’mores” = 4 drops Clove, 3 drops White Angelica, and 2 drops Nutmeg. Enjoy!
4. Succulents / Cacti
I absolutely LOVE succulents and cacti. My obsession began a couple years ago and has not diminished in the slightest. Our collection has grown tremendously and we have learned a lot about how to care for them. So, I wanted to share a few tips on how to care for these beautiful plants. Tip #1: Make sure they get A LOT of sun. We have our succulents on our back patio table where they get a lot of direct sunlight. They tripled in size within a few months. Since they are in direct sunlight, we mist them with the water hose frequently because the soil gets dry very fast. Tip #2: Use cactus/palm potting mix. I also sprinkle a few small pebbles on the bottom of the pot to help with drainage. And make sure you use a pot with a drainage hole. We use this Miracle-Gro potting soil, but here is an organic option also. Tip #3: Get rid of aphids on your succulents and cacti. The best way to get rid of those annoying pests is to buy blue Dawn dish soap and squeeze a little in a spray bottle and fill the rest with water and then spray that right on the plant. Works like a charm! I will say this also, do not use the blue Dawn dish soap to wash your dishes. If it can kill pests, you probably shouldn’t be using it to wash your plates that you’ll be eating off of, just saying. I like using Thieves dish soap for my dishes, 100% safe and made from plants. So, with that being said, you could also try 3 drops of Thieves and 3 drops of Peppermint essential oil mixed with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle for a more natural option, but keep in mind this may take about 2-3 treatments.
5. Bible Study
I don’t know about ya’ll, but I need “mom time.” I need time where I can congregate with other mamas and talk about life, struggles, and just be real. I love having this time every week and it’s called… Bible Study. We worship, share, pray, and it is just so good for my soul. I attend a Bible study at a local church and it is truly wonderful. If you’re unsure where to get plugged in with local mamas check out MOPS. This is a wonderful organization that helps connect you with other mamas in your area. “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 We weren’t made to go it alone mama friend, get you some girlfriends and a whole lot of Jesus and you’ll be set!
I hope you guys have a great rest of your weekend!
