Summer Plans!!!
Summer is here, and the Graham fam is super excited about it! We have lots planned and can’t wait to make new memories with our crew! Theo is easily entertained, and pretty independent, so I’ve come up with several “easy going” summer activities for him. It takes me back to the summer days when I was a child. We stayed outside the entire day, at the pool, lake, or at a friend’s house. We wouldn’t come in until dark, but before we came in, we always had to catch fireflies! Most meals consisted of watermelon, popsicles, and lemonade. The memories were so sweet, and I hope to create lasting memories like that with our little Theo! This summer we are partnering with Gymboree and their Local Legends Campaign to share about our upcoming summer plans. Gymboree truly has the cutest gear for your kiddos. Whatever your summer plans are, Gymboree has you covered from pool side to BBQ’s. I love all of their bright, fun prints!
// The Great Outdoors
We’ve got lots on the agenda this summer! First things first, our neighborhood pool will be our second home. It’s huge, kid friendly with a walk in kiddie area, popsicle bar during adult swim #lifesaver, and lots of neighborhood friends to play with. Theo has been in swim class since he was seven months old, so he LOVES the water and is a great swimmer. I have a feeling most days we will be poolside for sure. Also, we can’t forget about picnics at the park! We love making sandwiches, grabbing a bag of popcorn and water bottles, and head out the door. We will find a shaded picnic table and have lunch, then depending on the park we choose, Theo plays on the playground, the swing is currently his favorite. There’s also a park right on the lake near our house, and Theo loves to feed the ducks. He also loves to go fishing with his new fishing pole from Grandmommie and Pop! We will definitely be having some backyard hangs as well. Jonathan worked super hard and renovated our entire bag yard, he completely transformed it into a beautiful oasis. We will probably have many dinners out there, not to mention water gun and water balloon fights! Chalk, bubbles, and working in the yard is always high on Theo’s “to do list” as well. He would live outside if he could! My mom and stepdad live on the lake, so we will for sure be spending lots of time over at their house, utilizing the jet skis and boat.
// Rainy Day Play
I’ve come up with several other ideas for the rainy days as well. A movie, popcorn, and snuggles is always a big hit with Theo. There are plenty of kid museums and an aquarium close by that we will definitely be visiting throughout the summer. Play dough, legos, and fort building is always fun too! Theo is also into hide and seek, so I am sure we will be playing that a ton. The library is another great choice. Most libraries have story time that includes books, bubbles, and songs. Theo has been going since he was a couple months old and loves it! And we can’t forget the movie theater! Theo loved seeing Despicable Me 3 and The Star, and he was actually really good the whole time. I also want to get Theo some new board and interactive learning games. He loves any matching type games, and I just love seeing his mind work. I also plan to have Theo in the kitchen with me this summer, we will be making our own popsicles full of fruit and coconut water, gummies with our favorite antioxidant drink — NingXia Red, and maybe even some homemade cookies!
// Travel
We are planning on traveling to Florida this summer, just the three of us, and we are super excited! We plan on looking into going to Busch Gardens or Disney, but I think Theo may be too small still to really enjoy it. We do plan on having lots of pool and beach time. Some other fun items on the agenda while we are in Florida include: a kayak trip on Hillsborough river, a ferry ride to Caladesi Island, a trip to St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota for shopping and lunch, and a visit to the Dali museum. We haven’t ever flown with Theo, so send me all your tips and tricks for flying with a toddler. We plan on bringing lots of snacks, the iPad, and oils!
So, we are in full blown summer mode over here. Our calendar is full of fun activities, trips, and more. I love that Gymboree has made it easy to shop for my little guy with stylish looks for all occasions. I am loving the Jump Into Summer Collection and The True Blue Summer Collection! Shopping for a boy has never been easier because they truly have cute, versatile items. I’d love to hear what your summer plans are, comment below with what you have planned!
