Baby Graham #2: Announcement
I cannot believe we have another Graham babe on the way! WOW! When I found out I was pregnant with Theo, I was SO shocked because it was not planned at all. I didn’t get to announce our pregnancy to Jonathan in a cute, fun way because I was so caught off guard. Theo was still very much celebrated, but I sometimes wish I could go back and have a re-do of announcing it to Jonathan. Anyways, with baby number two we had been trying, but totally in the whole having fun, living life on the edge kinda way haha! Thursday, April 19th I had a couple appointments that day so Jonathan hung out with Theo. Before I headed out the door to make my 1:30 appointment, I remembered I had a pregnancy test in the bathroom cabinet, so I thought what the heck I’m only a day or so late, let’s just see what happens. Sure enough I took the test, and almost immediately…TWO PINK LINES. My heart started pounding out of my chest and I was overwhelmed with so much emotion and excitement! I had to get it together so I could leave the house without Jonathan having any idea, this so hard when you tell each other everything by the way. I went back downstairs and rushed out the door with the excuse of running late, and I was off to my lash appointment.
After my appointment I went to Target to search for some goodies to announce the big news to J and Theo. I ended up finding a cute shirt for Theo that said…”WORLD’S BEST BROTHER,” it was PERFECT. I also grabbed a card and then two more pregnancy tests, just to be sure ;). After that I was on my way to Whole Foods to get cupcakes…duh. I made it to the grocery store, and headed straight to the restroom to take the other two tests and what do you know? PREGNANT!!! Okay, after I got that out of the way, I headed over to the bakery, I got two mega cupcakes, a vegan one (for Theo), and then a mini one (for baby G). PERFECTION, my plan was all coming together. I called Jonathan on the way home from the store and suggested he take Theo outside in the neighborhood to fly his kite for a little while because the weather was perfect. So he and Theo headed out to fly the kite and I was able to get home and start setting up all the goods.
I ended up wrapping the three pregnancy tests and putting the card in a gift bag. I put the cupcakes on a little marble serving dish and stored them in the fridge, the only thing was figuring out how to get Theo in the shirt without Jonathan noticing. When they came in from flying the kite, I told Jonathan I had seen a snake in the backyard, I know, I know, I lied, but I had to get him out of the house for just a few minutes. Jonathan headed out back and I got Theo changed into his new big brother shirt. I went over to the backdoor and got my camera ready to take a video, Jonathan assumed I was trying to get him in all his man glory killing this “so called” snake, so it worked beautifully. I then had him come to the door where Theo greeted him with his new shirt on. He didn’t catch on as quickly as I had planned so I told him to check out Theo’s new shirt and he totally FREAKED out! It was PRICELESS. I then gave him his “present” full of pregnancy tests and we indulged in cupcakes, it was super sweet and I loved it being just the three…I mean four of us. We didn’t even break out the nice camera and get photos, so these were from my phone, the quality isn’t the greatest, but the memories sure were sweet + unforgettable. After we celebrated at home for a while we went out to dinner and celebrated some more! We are truly blessed and so grateful to be welcoming another baby boy to our tribe!
